Gia
Gia our pretty little girl
Gia
Gia came to me unexpectedly 12 years ago when she was just 5 years old, given to me by a friend that was unable to care for her. She was exactly what I needed. I remember cradling her like a baby and rubbing her belly, which she lived, until she would fall asleep. I would hold her for as long as my arm could, adoring her while she slept. Gia loved to go through the McDonalds drive thru so we could get her favorite chicken nuggets, I think she really just liked the attention she got from the drive-thru attendants. Gia loved to be outside exploring the world and I loved her being outside with me as I worked in the yard. I had a chest harness that I would where that was made to carry her with me. I was able to have her with me while I worked without worrying about her wandering off. Gia gained a second “Dad” and a Chihuahua sister when I met my partner 11 years ago. She loved him so much. She knew he was the one that would share his human food with her. they went everywhere with us. As Gia got older it started to show in her energy and wanting to play fetch which she always loved to do. She then started having hearing loss, loss of her teeth and then started to lose her eyesight. She was now 17 years old, amazing long life she had lived. We knew the time was nearing that she would leave us to go on and be with her sister that we lost 2 months before. Having her taken from us tragically so fast has been heartbreaking. I will miss hearing her toe nails tapping on the floor and the way she looked at us with such love and showed us unconditional love. Rest in peace Gia with your sister. One day we will see you again and I can hold you in my arm and rub your belly. Until then my pretty girl.
