Anya
I remember the day I first saw you. It was hard to see the amazing member of our family you would become under your matted and dirty hair, but I knew you were meant to be mine. Since you were a stray, I had to wait 3 agonizing days before I could make it official. But when that day finally came, it was one of the happiest days of my life.
You were the perfect fit for us. Calm and sweet and made to be ours. I have so many wonderful memories of our time with you. Picking you up from your first grooming and not recognizing you. How sweet you were when we brought home your human baby sister. The long car rides moving from Colorado to Florida. How happy you were after every grooming rubbing against the carpet then chasing the cat around. The intense look you would get whenever an apple or hot dog was nearby. These memories and more are the ones I will remember you by.
I will forever be thankful for the time we had with you and forever sad that it couldn’t last forever. I knew as you turned into a senior dog and started to slow down that this day would come, but nothing could prepare me for losing you. You will always be such an integral part of our lives and our hearts. I know that a soul as amazing as yours is in heaven, and it gives me some peace to know that we will see you again, but until then my heart will hurt a little and be filled with love at the same time whenever I think of you.
You will be missed greatly my sweet girl!
