Garfield

Garfield “Baby Garf” Arnett Sciortino passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2019, after being diagnosed with terminal cancer. He was approximately 12 years old. My husband and I first came to know Garfield as a temporary cat that would only be with us while his owner recovered from a surgery. However, we quickly fell in love with him and with his wonderful owner’s consent, he became our official and permanent fur-child.

He was a lover of the outdoors – basking in the sun, watching squirrels, and chasing lizards. There was never a cat that was as much of a cuddle ninja as Garfield, and he would bury his head against your arm or shoulder to keep his nose warm. He was a very social cat and always enjoyed the presence of any family or friends over, and would always be welcoming to kids coming up to pet him when the school bus let out down the street. Baby Garf is survived by his two feline brothers, Chicken and Pickles, whom he loved to hang out, sleep, and eat with, and by the entirety of his human family. Garfield brought joy to all those he came across. He will be sorely missed.

    Dear Rachelle,

It is comforting to read Garfield’s obituary. He was loved indeed. I recall that when he first met me he was super friendly…ready for a head scratch. I always appreciated his impressive capacity for food consumption. He was an angel that you and Hazel got to share.

    May Garfield rest in peace.

    Much love,
    Mom

Our “Grand-cat” Garfield was indeed a blessed feline and indeed a blessing to all he came in contact with.
From his rescue by a lovely lady, Hazel, with her loving care and then adopted by Shelly & Chris into their
sweet “kitty loving” home brought much happiness to all. Garfield was very special and we will all miss him.
Love to all Garfield’s friends, human & furry, Mame & Daddy Bear

    Rachelle,

So sorry to hear of the loss of Garfield. Pets are a blessing to us. They provide a soft shoulder to cry on, never tell stories about your deepest hurts and are there when we need them. Why they have to leave us I do not know – but it is all part of the circle of life.

I am sure Garfield will be missed but not forgotten.

Love and Joy to all of Garfield’s friends
    Tom

Garfield, you were such an amazing cat that was sooo loved by everyone who got the chance to interact with you. I remember cat sitting you one time and you let me pet you for at least 20 minutes, while you were purring the whole time, it was so precious. May you rest in peace <3

So Sorry to hear about Garfield. You are such a kind person to reach out and take care of cats who lose their home.

I know the importance of pets in our daily lives and how much it hurts when we lose one. But remember all of the joy and happiness they provided.

    Love and Peace
    Tom
