Apollo
You were a great dog, Apollo
Apollo
Today we had to say goodbye to our sweet Apollo. Almost 15 years of loving this boy, and I’m grateful for every minute. A group of TKE fraternity brothers decided to get a puppy back in college. Poor guy had to be tough to survive the frat house. Our son Taylor was the lucky one who brought him home on school breaks, and we fell in love the minute he walked in the door.
After four years at UF, Apollo came home to with his dad and his first “real” job. As Taylor worked long hours and eventually began traveling the world, we had Apollo more and more. Weekends turned into weeks. He became our grand dogger, my co-worker, and our constant companion.
He loved the pool, even if it took some convincing. He’d swim end to end just to see our reaction. He sat with me on the patio couch every day, watching birds, tried to chase the squirrels, and barking at anyone he thought might bother me. He guarded my space, my peace, and my heart.
He lived a full, beautiful life. And while my heart is heavy, I know peace is the best gift we could give him.
You will be missed, my sweet old man. You were loved every day of your life. Go find Gigi and Stanley. I hope you are already chasing the ball and fighting over that damn rubber chicken again.
Until we meet in Heaven.💙🐾🙏
