Chico

When I brought Chico home nearly 16 years ago, I was totally unprepared for the overwhelming love I felt for this tiny, feisty, and ridiculously adorable little kitty. Chico was my first pet afterall, and I didn’t expect to feel as attached to him as I did. From that day on, I was completely devoted to him. He’s been my one true companion and it was him and I against the world ever since. As a kitten he was a ball of energy, as a teen a little frenetic and mischievous (but always obedient), as an adult very chatty and throughout all those stages leading up to his senior years…it seemed like our love for each other grew a little more everyday. He brought light to my heart and a different kind of love than I thought possible. His passing has been one of the most difficult things I’ve had to endure and the sense of loss is tremendous especially since it all just happened so fast… no one prepares you for how difficult the loss of your pet is. But with the pain I feel, I also feel so very fortunate to have had him with me for the amount of time I did… he’s been one of the greatest gifts in my life and I will love him forever… always in my heart… sleep in peace my beautiful poppa… your mom misses you more than you could ever know…
